On this page, we focus on a chief support that could upstage the main event. Jermall Charlo ducks between the ropes in Vegas to meet Thomas LaManna, with an exciting clash guaranteed. Both warriors believe they’re good enough to win this weekend and know victory would elevate them to a strong position in the super middleweight rankings. Will Charlo win, or can LaManna spoil the party?

    Charlo vs LaManna odds

Will Jermall Charlo continue his winning run and 100% record with another victory before a sold-out arena with millions more following the fight live on television? Perhaps you prefer Thomas LaManna, picking the experienced American fighter from New Jersey to solve the puzzle and dent his opponent’s streak. The leading bookmakers offer sports fans eye-catching betting odds and exciting markets.

The simplest way to bet on boxing is to predict the winner, and you’ll find the latest betting odds listed for both men and the draw below.

The current betting shows that the traders working at bet365 expect Charlo to use his experience and add another useful win to his unblemished card. The oddsmakers have seen enough from the favourite to know he’s super talented in this division, and don’t believe LaManna possesses the skills needed to stop the tide.

That’s a fair assumption, but this is the hurt game, and it’s highly unpredictable. A fighter can turn the night in his favour with one well-timed blow, and you must remember that when deciding on your stake.

    Charlo vs LaManna outcome odds

Finding value when betting on boxing isn’t always easy. In many major bouts, including the one in question, one fighter is priced as if the result is done and dusted, even before the warriors set foot on the canvas. The opponent is then available at chunky odds, sometimes closer to the draw, which is always a big offer. The fight-winner market isn’t for every bout, but there are many options available at your fingertips.

I’m a massive fan of the method of victory market. One of many specials, you must predict which fighter will win and how they’ll secure the result. Do you expect Charlo to win by knockout? Perhaps you prefer a play on him impressing the judges and winning on points. Landing the method of victory is more difficult than the fight-winner option, but the odds are often worth the risk. In my main years of betting on boxing and previewing fights, I’ve found that the more research you do, the greater your chance of predicting the method of victory.

How will Saturday’s chief support play out? Charlo has a 67% knockout average in his career, but claimed his last three on points after going the 12-round distance. Below, I’ve listed the current betting odds available at bet365.

Here’s how the latest method of victory betting odds look ahead of Jermall Charlo vs Thomas LaManna:

Charlo by KO/TKO at 8/11 with bet365 Charlo on points at 13/10 with bet365 LaManna by KO/TKO at 16/1 bet365 LaManna on points at 22/1 bet365

Hit Man takes aim in Vegas

Jermall Charlo enters the ring with a stunning 33-0-09 record, with 22 wins inside the distance. The man from Houston, Texas, made his professional debut back in 2008 with a second-round TKO win and hasn’t looked back since. He quickly climbed the ranks, stopping many of his early opponents and collecting respected titles, including the IBF super welterweight world title. Having topped the division, he chose to move up to middleweight.

A shift in category didn’t slow his progress, with Charlo winning the WBC middleweight crown. In 2019, he beat Brandon Adams on points to claim the strap before defending it against Dennis Hogan, Sergiy Derevyanchenko, and Juan Macias Montiel. He beat two of that trio on the scorecards. His form shows Charlo is as capable, strong, and dangerous at middleweight as he was at super welterweight, which was never a given at this level.

We last saw Charlo in action when blasting Jose Benavidez Jr on points over ten rounds at this venue a month before Christmas. It was another comfortable outing, with Jermall winning by margins of ten, eight, and six rounds. Team Charlo know the pressure is on, and they must impress again this weekend against a dangerous opponent. But just how dangerous is the man starting in the opposite corner?

    Crunchtime for Cornflake

The fighter known as Cornflake travels from Millville, New Jersey, to Las Vegas, hoping to upset the odds and score the biggest win of his career. The 33-year-old American brings a professional boxing record of 39 wins against five defeats and one draw, with 18 knockout victories on his card. He’s experienced, brave, fit and always comes to win. He won’t be overawed by the reputation of his rival or the size of the task that awaits him on Saturday.

LaManna is currently ranked at number five at the weight in the United States, a list dominated by Diego Pacheco. He’s as far down the global pecking order as 44th, and although that has kept him out of the running for major honours, he can change all that this weekend. A win on Saturday would improve LaManna’s career overnight. By the start of next week, his manager’s phone will be ringing with big-money offers to fight the man who dethroned Charlo. Is he up to the job?

LaManna arrives on an impressive winning streak, with his last defeat coming back in 2021 when he was taken out inside the opening round by a hard-hitting Erislandy Lara in Carson. Since that early TKO, Thomas has reeled off nine big wins, including six by stoppage. It’s also worth knowing that LaManna halted each of his previous four opponents inside the first seven rounds. But he takes an enormous step up in class here.

    Charlo vs LaManna betting tips

Let’s now dive into the deep end of the betting pool. I have studied the stats, checked the markets and found three potential bets for Charlo vs LaManna. You can follow me on all three, pick your best, or go against my selections.

The bet365 app offers great odds and interesting bets on the best of this weekend’s boxing in the United States.

    Over 7.5 rounds

We’ll begin with a bet on the total rounds, playing over 7.5 on Saturday. With this approach, it doesn’t matter which fighter gets the win and if they score a KO victory or box their way to a points decision. As long as the bout goes beyond the midway point of round seven, you’ll land the profits promised.

Looking through Charlo’s recent stats, we see the favourite hasn’t finished a fight before round seven since 2018, which is a run of six bouts. Jermall seems to take his time at the higher weight, working his way into a contest and staying patient before coming on strong. I expect something similar here.

Bet on 7.5+ rounds at 8/13 with bet365

    Charlo win KO/TKO

Moving to a bet at slightly better odds, we’re picking sides and taking Charlo to win the contest without the need for the scoring judges. The man with the 67% knockout average prefers to box clever as he rises through the divisions, but his natural power, speed and accuracy remain. The big-punching star will remind us of his abilities.

Charlo last stopped an opponent in 9 when taking out Dennis Hogan in round seven. He’s since gone the distance three times, but LaManna isn’t quite as dangerous as Benavidez Jr or Montiel. I don’t expect to see him go out all guns blazing, but Charlo’s experience will ensure he walks his opponent down and hurts him when the time is right.

Back Charlo to win by KO/TKO at 8/11 with bet365

    Charlo in rounds 9-10

My final pick is one for lovers of big odds, and we shoot for Charlo to score a late stoppage. In the round group betting, we play Charlo to win it between rounds nine and ten. If he does, you land the profits. But if the bout goes to points, Charlo wins earlier than the ninth round, or LaManna is victorious, you’ll lose your stake.

It’s worth knowing LaManna has been stopped three times already, with none of those defeats coming against an opponent anywhere near as good or experienced as Charlo. It’s a gamble for LaManna, and I’m confident it’ll blow up in his face. Back Charlo to avoid the lottery of the bout going to points by finishing it in the last two rounds.

Back Charlo to win in rounds 9-10 at 13/2 with bet365
