A MEMBER of the Detroit Tigers grounds crew furiously gestured towards an NBC Sports camera after suffering an injury at Comerica Park.
The incident occurred between the seventh and eighth innings on Wednesday night.
The staff member appeared to go down with a knee injury and swiftly received medical attention.
But while he underwent treatment, he gestured to a nearby camera with his middle finger.
The NBC Sports camera had just cut to the injured person when the incident occurred.
One of his colleagues then forced his hand down after realising what was happening.
The camera operator had to cut away immediately to a wide shot of the field.
A San Francisco Giants broadcaster on NBC Sports Bay Area then quickly said: “Can’t do that!”
After the game, Tigers first baseman Colt Keith – who was near the incident when it occurred – then revealed the severity of the injury.
He said: “It was pretty gross. I saw his kneecap on the side of his knee.
“He was screaming. I saw them pop it back in. I hope he’s all right.”
The Detroit Tigers went on to beat the San Francisco Giants 4-3 on the night.
