05/23/2025In the middle Wednesday night’s (May 28) rain-soaked stop of the Cowboy Carter tour in East Rutherford, N.J., Bey noticed two fans in the “Club Ho-Down” VIP section of the crowd holding up an envelope asking her to tell them the gender of their soon-to-be-born baby. Bey read the sign aloud to the crowd and assured the couple that “I will come back, I promise,” before heading into her next number.
At the very end of her show, just after a rousing rendition of “16 Carriages,” Beyoncé returned to the couple in the crowd and had them pass up the envelope. “My hands are sticky,” the singer laughed as she struggled to get the parcel open amid the rain. Pulling the envelope apart, Bey grinned and held up a piece of paper saying “cowboy.”
“It’s a boy! God bless you. Congratulations! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of it,” Beyoncé said to the expecting couple, before holding up the ripped envelope and laughing, “I’m keeping this.”
Fans looking to get their own face-to-face experience with Beyoncé still have plenty of chances to do so. The singer’s Cowboy Carter Tour plays its last show at MetLife stadium on Thursday (May 29) before heading to Europe for two sets of dates in London and Paris. Bey will then return stateside for a final set of shows in Houston, D.C., Atlanta and Las Vegas.
