As the adorably goofy older brother on the classic Nickelodeon sitcom iCarly, Jerry Trainor made countless young viewers (and their parents) laugh for six seasons — and it turns out his fans haven't forgotten a single hilarious moment.
In a video shared to TikTok from a recent GalaxyCon panel appearance, Trainor, 48, opened up about his signature stunts on iCarly (and the show's 2021 reboot). Trainor's character, Spencer, was known for accidentally setting anything and everything on fire, in zany and unexpected ways. So it wasn't a huge surprise when a fan posed the question: "What was your favorite thing of Spencer's that caught fire?"
Trainor's answer, on the other hand, was somewhat unexpected.
@galaxycon"its too late" would be enough for me to never do this stuny #jerrytrainor #galaxycon #icarly #icarlyreboot #spencershay

"That was such a fun stunt," he continued. "Like, my whole arms went up and I went like that," he went on, waving his arms. "And then Harper comes out with a fire extinguisher and actually puts me out," Trainor added, referencing the Harper character (played by Laci Mosley).
Trainor went on to reveal that even though he had fireproof gel on his arms, there was a level of risk involved.
"They were like, 'If you start to feel it get warm, it's too late,'" he recalled before addressing the stunned audience directly.
"Yeah, they said that. To a tender soul like me, who just wants to make people laugh," he quipped.
Fans in the comments loved seeing Trainor reminisce about playing Spencer, with many sharing similar hopes regarding the actor's career.
"I would've loved to see Jack Black and Jerry in something together," one person wrote, with someone else suggesting, "i need him and jack black onna podcast."
"He and jack black need to play brothers in something," declared another commenter, as somebody chimed in to point out "he would've played a good Steve in the Minecraft movie."

While the iCarly reboot was canceled after three seasons in 2023, star Miranda Cosgrove hinted there might be more to come during a November 2024 appearance on The Talk, saying, “I’m not allowed to 100 percent confirm anything yet but I think the fans of the show are going to be super excited because we have something in the works.”
