CONCORD, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Campers and RVs lined the fairgrounds across the street from the Charlotte Motor Speedway for Memorial Day weekend, signaling an exciting time in motorsports.

"We came to enjoy the race weekend. It is a crazy weekend for racing," Larry Bragg said.

The Xfinity race, Indy 500, and Coke 600 have drivers speeding around the track hoping to cross the finish line first; with fans hoping fan favorite Kyle Larson would become the latest driver to complete the Indy-Charlotte double.

"We cannot wait. We're just talking about him. Yeah, we're Larson fans. That guy is amazing," Bragg said.

Long-time friends Larry Bragg and Eric Zeder decided to camp right outside the Speedway for the weekend.

"This is actually the first time we've ever been to a NASCAR race party. They were just talking about how great this is, and we're like "We need to go check it out.. my birthday weekend.. This is perfect," Zeder said.

The last few years, the race was rained out. This year fans are hoping for dry weather so they can enjoy the race. But they have a plan just in case.

"If it rains, we're staying for the rerun, which they might reschedule from Monday or Tuesday, depending on the weather. So we're staying no matter what. So if we run, we run. If we don't, we're staying until they do run," Bragg said.
