Dancing With the Stars pro-turned-judge Derek Hough and his wife and fellow professional dancer Hayley Erbert could "use every prayer" from their fans right now.
Erbert revealed in an emotional Instagram post that her stepdad Jim is having a very "high-risk surgery" on Friday, May 23, to remove a "large tumor" from his torso.
"We could use every prayer, every ounce of love, and every bit of healing light today! My stepdad, Jim, is heading into a very long and high-risk surgery to remove a large tumor and any remaining cancer cells in his torso. He is truly one of the strongest, kindest souls I know, and I believe with all my heart that he’s going to make it through this with the same courage and grace he brings to everything in life," wrote Erbert.

She went on to say that when she was hospitalized for a cranial hematoma and had to have an emergency craniectomy in December 2023, she "witnessed firsthand" what healing thoughts can do.
"When I went through my brain surgery, I witnessed firsthand how powerful love, energy, and prayer can be," wrote Erbert. "They create space for miracles, and right now, Jim could use that miracle. Please surround him (and my mom) with strength, light, and all the healing energy we can possibly give. Jim, I love you so much ?."

The messages are written alongside two photos — one of Erbert and her stepdad dancing together and another one of the two of them with her husband, Hough. Hough reposted the post on his Instagram and wrote, "Healing energy ?? ❤️."
In the comments, the Dancing With the Stars family is rallying around the two dancers.
"Praying for Jim and your whole family today ??❤️," wrote fellow pro Jenna Johnson.
"Praying for you all today ????," wrote pro Lindsay Arnold.
