Miley Cyrus fans who wanted to see the star go on tour in the forest have Harrison Ford to thank for that not happening.
Cyrus recently revealed that she's known Ford for a long time due to both their ties with Disney — hers with Hannah Montana and Harrison via Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and most recently, Captain America: Brave New World.
But Cyrus revealed that her bond with Harrison goes deeper than just working for the same company, while opening up about her new visual album, Something Beautiful, during an interview with Zane Lowe.
She explained that last year, while accepting her Disney Legends award, Ford literally changed her life and saved her a ton of money. He was on hand with Jamie Lee Curtis at the D23 fan expo in August 2024 to present the award to Cyrus, and their conversation changed her entire vision for this upcoming album.
"I've known Harrison Ford for like quite a while just growing up in Disney and been in the same circles," Cyrus began. "So he goes, 'So what are you up to? Are you in the studio making an album, or what are you doing?'"
The Disney star continued, "I said, 'Well, I have an idea.' I said, 'Actually, you know I have something. I made something. I have a PDF on my phone I could show you."
Then, Cyrus said she explained her idea of turning Something Beautiful into Somewhere Beautiful, where she would invite her fans to join her in beautiful places like forests and pyramids for performances of her music in areas that were not stadiums and, instead, were a much more beautiful and intimate experience.
But when the Flowers singer showed her idea, she said Ford's response was to shoot it down, saying, "Yeah, you really want to go and set up in a forest and do what?'"
She continued, "Like he's like 'What?' He's like, 'You're going to bring a crew you got.' He's like, 'Looks expensive.'"
After that, Cyrus said she decided not to continue with her plans to perform in the forest because "Harrison Ford made a lot of sense."
Instead, the upcoming album will be a "multi-sensory project" that has been described as a "one-of-a-kind cinematic experience" and won't cost Cyrus nearly as much as setting up shows in places that aren't engineered for sound.
