Netflix has come calling with a new dark comedy with a whiff of danger to it.
Sirens starring Julianne Moore, Kevin Bacon and Meghan Fahy premieres on the streaming service this week.
Based on the play Elemeno Pea by Molly Smith Metzler, who is also the show’s creator and executive producer, it is a blend of mystery, Greek mythology and dark comedy.
“This story has a lot of teeth,” said Smith Metzler. “There are real moments of drama, and it’s going to make people uncomfortable.
“Operatic is a word I like to use to describe it.
“It’s a true dark comedy – and it’s got a Greek mythology vibe.”
Beware the Sirens, viewers risk being drawn into a watery world which is anything but clear.
