Post Malone is in the middle of a legal battle with ex Hee Sung “Jamie” Park for custody of their daughter.
During their time together, Malone (real name Austin Post) kept his relationship with Park largely out of the public eye. The rapper did confirm in May 2022 that he was gearing up for fatherhood, but left Park’s name out of the pregnancy announcement. Malone and Park welcomed their daughter the following year. Her name has yet to be revealed publicly. (The child is referred to as “DDP” in court documents regarding custody.)
“It changes your life in the best way ever,” Malone said on CBS Sunday Morning in August 2024. “I’ll never forget her. If you’ve heard her cry, you’ll never forget her, either.”
After becoming parents, Malone started to be a bit more open about his relationship. The singer confirmed during a 2023 appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast that he and Park were engaged. Malone had proposed two years prior.

Court documents obtained by multiple outlets in May 2025 revealed that Malone and Park had split in November 2024. It’s unclear why they decided to split but things started to get rocky in the aftermath when news broke that Park petitioned for full custody of their daughter.

Park Files for Primary Physical Custody
Us Weekly confirmed in April 2025 that Park had filed a petition in California for primary physical custody of their daughter. She requested joint legal custody and asked for Malone to be awarded child visitation. Park also asked that Malone be responsible for attorney fees.
After news of Park’s petition went public, multiple outlets reported that Malone had actually filed his own custody petition in Utah, days before his ex.
Fighting Over Where to Live
Malone claimed in the May 2025 docs, which he filed to dismiss Park’s custody petition, that he and Park lived together in Utah before their relationship ended, where they were raising their daughter. He initially agreed to share custody of their daughter, moving their daughter between L.A. — where Park has since relocated — and Utah every two weeks.
The rapper alleged that he later learned that Park was planning to file her custody petition and change their daughter’s primary residence to California — which is why he filed his own custody petition first.

Malone claims that Park’s custody petition “intentionally misleads” the situation since their daughter has lived in Utah her whole life. He further alleged that Park “rushed to enroll DDP in every type of activity she can” in California, attempting to show their daughter lived there.
“I do not consent to Jamie’s back door attempt to change DDP’s residence from Utah to California,” Malone’s May 2025 filing reads, according to Billboard. “I request that the California court admonish Jamie for her lack of candor, gamesmanship in attempting to forum shop, and her intentional action to try to mislead the court about DDP’s home.”
Neither Malone nor Park has publicly addressed the ongoing custody dispute.
