THE Kansas City Chiefs are signing a Super Bowl champion to help Patrick Mahomes.
Andy Reid wants to add more experience to his roster after a disappointing end to the 2024-25 season.
The AFC West giants were hammered 40-22 in the Super Bowl in early February by the Philadelphia Eagles.
That ended their hopes of a historic three-peat, which would have been a first in league history.
The Chiefs expected a huge turnover in their roster, with plenty of faces coming and going.
And one player Reid has decided to get in at Arrowhead is Tremayne Anchrum.
He comes in as a free agent on a contract understood to be around $1 million.
The 26-year-old was a seventh-round pick for the Los Angeles Rams in 2020.
He played with the team for four season.
Anchrum won a Super Bowl, and earned a ring, as part of the 2021 side.
The Rams won that game 23-20 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
He was also victorious in two College Football Playoff National Championships with Clemson.
That came in 2016 and 2018 during a dominant era for the Tigers.
His job at the Chiefs will predominantly be to protect Mahomes.
The guard will also be there to help Reid with his offensive run game.
Last year, Anchrum signed contracts with the Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints.

He eventually ended up on the Houston Texans‘ practice squad.
It is understood he is unlikely to start for the Chiefs to begin with.
However, he is a valuable back-up if one of their starters goes down injured.
His championship experience could be valuable for the Chiefs in 2025.
It comes just days after they waived veteran running back Keaontay Ingram.
Reid picked up offensive tackle Josh Simmons in the first-round of the NFL Draft last month.
He was chosen at number 32 out of Ohio State.
