SAN JOSE — A man died Monday morning after he jumped from a Highway 101 overpass onto the southbound lanes of traffic and was struck by a vehicle, the California Highway Patrol said.
Authorities were trying to identify the man.

He was then struck by a vehicle that remained at the scene.
The man who jumped was pronounced dead at the scene.
.All southbound lanes remained closed at 7:45 a.m. while officers investigated what happened. The CHP said it hoped to be able to reopen the lanes by 8 a.m.
