Scottie Scheffler, the 28-year-old golfer with the magical swing, is currently the world's number one ranked golfer. He has won the Masters Tournament twice, in 2022 and 2024, and at the 2024 Paris Olympics, he took home the gold medal. Not bad for a kid from Dallas!

Scottie Scheffler proposed to Meredith Scudder in June 2020, and they went on to be married in December 2020 in Texas. Around that time, Scheffler's professional golf career was beginning to really soar, and in that same year, he was named the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year.
And although Scheffler is the number one golf player in the world, Meredith loves and supports him no matter what.
In 2022, he told the press: “Meredith told me this morning, if you win this golf tournament today, if you lose this golf tournament by 10 shots, if you never win another golf tournament again she goes, I’m still going to love you, you’re still going to be the same person.”
How did Scottie Scheffler and Meredith Scudder meet?
Scottie Scheffler and Meredith Scudder met when they were both in high school, at Highland Park High School in Dallas, Texas. You have to wonder if they met because they sat near each other—check out those last names—but that’s unconfirmed, and we don’t want to start rumors. (But wouldn’t it be perfect?)
“At the beginning of high school I always thought he had a super humble ambiance about him, that he was just a really down-to-earth guy that doesn’t take himself too seriously,” Scudder told Golf Digest about Scheffler.
Although they obviously knew each other for years, they didn't start dating until senior year.
The duo went to rival colleges—Scheffler attended University of Texas, while Scudder studied at Texas A&M University as a communication and business major—but, according to all reports, they stayed true blue to each other.

What does Meredith Scudder do for a living?
Meredith Scudder is a connections liaison at Behind Every Door (BED), a non-profit organization which provides a community center to underserved neighborhoods in Dallas.
“It’s seeing potential in kids that they may never see themselves, and, in turn, helping those kids see it in themselves,” Scudder told Essential Golf.
And don’t think Scheffler isn’t involved—in fact, he has even publicly supported the charity on his socials.

Yes! They have one child together. During the 2024 Masters Tournament, Scottie Scheffler announced that he and Meredith Scudder were expecting their first child. Scheffler also won his second green jacket in the same event. What luck!

Scheffler told National Club Golfer, “I can’t really describe the feeling of dreaming of just coming and playing on the PGA Tour, to be sitting at home with the girl I dated in high school with our child and then the Green Jacket sitting in the closet is a pretty insane feeling.”
