Former Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent is opening up about her recent diagnosis.
E! News reported that Kent shared she went to get her eye checked after she noticed a pink growth in a May 13 Instagram upload.
"It started out I want to say maybe a month and a half, two months ago, where it was like the slightest bit of discoloration. I was like, ‘This is so weird, like what is that?’ Like, a week and a half ago it started to look like a blister to me," said Kent in her Instagram Story.
Kent let her followers know that her doctor determined the growth was pre-cancerous while filming a May 14 Instagram upload. Kent said she became emotional when she was given the diagnosis.
“She said that it is pre-cancer, and she said, ‘I want to start you on chemotherapy drops. Now I know that sounds terrifying, I cried, obviously, because when you hear that word," said Kent to her Instagram followers.
In addition, she said she will need to use the chemotherapy eyedrops over the period of three months.
“She said, 'I want you to do the chemo drops for three months. We're going to do a week of them and then go off for three weeks. And we're going to do that for three months.' At that point in time, God willing, it kills all of the cancerous cells. If it doesn’t, we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it. And talk about surgery. So there’s the update," said Kent during the Instagram update.
Kent has two children, Ocean, 4, fathered by her ex-fiance, Randall Emmett, and Sosa, 8 months, conceived via sperm donor.
Kent joined the cast of Vanderpump Rules during its 4th season, which aired in 2014. Following the show's 11th season, Bravo announced that the show would be rebooted with a completely different cast. Kent shared her thoughts about the reboot during a January 2025 interview on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. Kent said she was "sad" about not filming the show again.
"The fact that that time of our lives is over, it's crazy," said Kent on the podcast.
Kent also expressed gratitude for the Bravo series.
"This show changed my whole life," said Kent.
Kent clarified she has enjoyed spending time with her children, instead of filming Vanderpump Rules.
