Crystal Palace vs Man City preview
We’ve reached the grand finale of the world’s oldest cup competition as Crystal Palace and Manchester City prepare to battle it out in the 153rd FA Cup final.
For Crystal Palace, this marks only their third appearance in an FA Cup final – and they’ll be hoping it’s third time lucky.
The Eagles fell short in both of their previous finals, suffering defeat against Manchester United in 1990 and again in 2016.
In fact, they’re one of just four clubs to have reached multiple finals without ever lifting the famous trophy.
But under Oliver Glasner, Palace have looked a different beast.
Their route to Wembley has been impressive – scoring exactly three goals in each of the last three rounds, and have registered four clean sheets in five ties, conceding just ONCE all tournament.
The Eagles have also returned to form at the opportune moment. They are unbeaten in their last five in all competitions (W2, D3) and those fixtures included the likes of Bournemouth, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham.
However, if the Eagles are to end their FA Cup drought, they must overcome a significant hurdle: Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola’s side are unbeaten in their last seven meetings with Palace in all competitions (W4, D3) and have won the last three FA Cup encounters between the two by a combined scoreline of 18-4.
This will be City’s 14th FA Cup final — a tally bettered only by Arsenal (21), Manchester United (21), Chelsea (16), and Liverpool (15). They’ve lifted the trophy seven times, and another triumph would move them level with Tottenham and Liverpool.
Yet, for all their recent successes, this final carries added significance for the Cityzens. By their own lofty standards, it has been a disappointing campaign. No Premier League, no Champions League, no Carabao Cup – so the FA Cup represents their last shot at silverware.
Their most recent meeting with Palace came just over a month ago – a 5-2 win at Selhurst Park – but Glasner was defiant after the defeat, warning Guardiola: “If we meet again, you can’t play in this system, because we will solve it.”
We will see.

Crystal Palace vs Man City preview betting tips and predictions
Goalscorer
For Crystal Palace, Eberechi Eze is very much the main man.
The 26-year-old England international has enjoyed a standout season, contributing 12 goals and 11 assists in 40 appearances across all competitions. He arrives in blistering form, having scored twice in Palace’s 2-0 win over Tottenham in their last league outing.
Eze has also been instrumental in Palace’s FA Cup run, directly involved in four goals in the competition so far (3 goals, 1 assist). He opened the scoring in their semi-final victory over Aston Villa and also found the net in the 5-2 defeat to City last month.
Over the last six Premier League matches, only Newcastle’s Alexander Isak has posted a higher expected goals (xG) figure than Eze, who’s averaged an effort on goal every 29 minutes.

It’s hard to ignore the value in Kevin De Bruyne to score or assist at Evens with William Hill.
The Belgian playmaker is no stranger to the big stage — Saturday will mark his fourth, and possibly final, FA Cup final appearance for Manchester City. He’s been directly involved in four goals across his previous three final outings (1 goal, 3 assists).
He’s contributed two goals and an assist in his last five matches, and no City player comes close to matching his creativity – he boasts more than double the expected assists (xA) of any team-mate over the last six Premier League fixtures. KDB also has 16 goal involvements in 19 career games against Crystal Palace.
