Let’s get past biases, see big picture
Yes, psychologically, President Trump represents the worst parts of all of us . That’s why we love him and identify with him. He also arouses our goodness and love. Thank you, God.
If we listed all of our bad qualities and no good ones, we couldn’t hold our heads up. However that’s what our opponents lay at the president’s feet every day. They aren’t used to hearing honest responses but want the president to be a “gentleman.” “Look at him. He’s acting like a common man. How disgusting!” (Bring me a fan, I think I may faint!)
It’s too bad we can’t get past our biases and see the big picture. All in all, what the president wants is to achieve for our future: safety, wealth and productivity.

Fewer trees, more people
What is going on in Weld County? You seem to be chopping down all the oxygen-producing, shade-providing trees to build more housing. That means more people to drive on roads that couldn’t handle the traffic 20 years ago! And it seems like more and more bike lanes. Shouldn’t they have to have a driver’s test, insurance and tags to renew every year? Don’t take that comment wrong — good for those who can and do ride bikes, but learn the rules of the road like auto drivers should.

How about organize sports by performance, not gender?
As someone who’s spent years around Colorado’s public schools, volunteering at ski meets, hauling snacks to practice, sitting through the long nights at school board meetings, I’ve been paying close attention to the quiet talk about a new resolution making rounds in a few districts. It suggests encouraging CHSAA to organize high school sports not strictly by gender, but by performance.
At first glance, it might sound like a big shift. But in many youth sports, we already group kids by ability to keep competition fair and safe. Formalizing that approach could help more athletes stick with sports, build confidence, and compete in ways that match their growth.
It won’t be simple, and it won’t solve everything. But it could be a step toward a system that’s more reflective of today’s students and a bit less about gatekeeping tradition for tradition’s sake.
This conversation doesn’t have to be political. It can just be about doing right by our kids.
Thanks for taking a moment to consider where we go from here.

The cost of being an American
The need for national income stems from protectionism. This year, President Trump is asking for $1 trillion for the Defense Department. Conflict on foreign soil is the quickest way to build debt and drain an economy. Korea, Vietnam, Iran-contra, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Yemen. Now our military is guarding our own border. It costs $17,000 per undocumented immigrant to deport someone, and they could return. Even more ($24,000) if sent to El Salvador. One way only.
The president is tanking America’s economic future by trying to substitute tariffs for federal income and corporate taxes. The price for this policy? Inflation and decreased expenditures in the Department of Health and Human Services. Yes, there will be pain and sacrifice. It will fall on those who can afford it the least. They will not be included in the golden age.
To celebrate the president’s handling of the country and his birthday, a military parade will be held. He is all about saving face. Money and wealth are subjective and mutually exclusive. When will we ever learn? America is headed toward a fools golden age.
Blessings.
