The Chula Vista City Council voted this month to accept the city manager’s proposed budget for fiscal year 2025-26, marking a key step in the city’s annual budget process.
The $617.2 million budget is now available for public review, as required by the city charter.
The proposal includes a $305.6 million General Fund operating budget and a $29.6 million capital improvement program budget. It also allocates $9.4 million in Measure P funds for infrastructure improvements and $140 funded public safety positions under Measure A, including new firefighters and a police community relations specialist.
The final budget adoption is scheduled for May 20 at 5 p.m. during a public hearing at City Hall.
Residents are encouraged to review the proposed budget and share feedback at chulavistaca.gov/budget.
