Lindsey Buckingham, the legendary singer and guitarist for iconic 1970s/1980s group Fleetwood Mac, has launched a new project with his daughter, Leelee.
He first teased the venture on Instagram, asking his fans, "Who's ready for a Leelee collab?" before launching the project in mid-April.
"Surprise - a new reaction series, 'Lindsey + Leelee React,' is coming to YouTube. The first installation starts Wednesday," announced Buckingham.
The first installment featured the father/daughter duo reacting to Buckingham's 1984 solo single "Slow Dancing."
Cuing up the video, Buckingham says, "I'm pretty sure Leelee hasn't seen any of these. She's probably going to be shocked and embarrassed, but I guess we'll find out!"
Indeed, Leelee is pretty delighted by her dad's totally '80s vibe, "Pretty sleek outfit…it looks like the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland…I've never seen you dance, you're killin' it, though, c'mon!…saucy! Gasp! Dad! What are you doin'?!"
Buckingham's fans were super into the first installment and are eagerly awaiting the next video.
"This is simply fantastic!! ??Looking forward to more ?," wrote one fan.
Another added, "I love this so much!"
"Ha, this is brilliant ?❤️?," wrote a third fan.
"Good things come to those who wait??? I loved this video and can't wait for more reaction videos…?," wrote a fourth fan, to which Buckingham replied, "More coming soon!"
"Both of you are so freaking adorable. It's nice to hear him laugh!" wrote another fan, and yet another wrote, "I love everything about this. Kinda surreal."
Buckingham was famously a duo with then-girlfriend Stevie Nicks in the early 1970s before the two of them joined Mick Fleetwood and John McVie in Fleetwood Mac alongside McVie's then-wife, the late Christine McVie, who sadly passed away in 2022 at the age of 79.
The frontman and guitarist didn't officially leave Fleetwood Mac until 1987, but he started releasing solo music in 1981. It will be interesting to see if Buckingham and Leelee react to any Fleetwood Mac songs or if that's just too weird.
Buckingham and Nicks' breakup was one of the driving forces behind the band's biggest album, Rumours, along with the breakup of the McVie marriage. It has been, ahem, rumored that Buckingham and Nicks were on again, off again until he met his current wife, Kristen Messner, in the mid-1990s. The two split in 2021, but it doesn't appear that they have ever officially divorced.
Buckingham and Messner welcomed son William, 26, in 1998, daughter Leelee, 24, in 2000 and daughter Stella, 21, in 2004.
In a 2004 interview with The Sydney Morning Herald, when Fleetwood Mac was doing a reunion tour, Buckingham talked about how becoming a father changed his life, telling the paper, "[Family puts me in a whole other thing. I have my own world, which isn't always Stevie's world."
He also told The National News in 2011 that he's glad he had his kids later in life (he was 48 when his son was born) because he wasn't ready to be a father when he was younger.
"I've seen a lot of parents not really be there for their kids, so I'm glad that gift came when I was ready," said Buckingham.
But he and Nicks were on good enough terms to work together in 2011 when he sang and played guitar for the song "Soldier's Angel" on Nicks' seventh solo studio album, In Your Dreams.
