COSTCO has discontinued a major in-store perk and fans are reeling.
The fan-favorite deal was quietly removed from the store’s website.
Costco fans are upset after noticing that a popular travel perk may have quietly disappeared from the retailer’s offerings.
The warehouse club’s popular deal on Disneyland Resort seems to have been pulled without warning.
The change was noticed by fans on social media.
A Reddit user announced the news in a post titled, “Costco Travel no longer accepting Disneyland Resort reservations.”
A similar message is displayed on the Costco Travel website.
“I’m not seeing this discussed anywhere and I am curious what may have happened,” the user wrote.
“It was working earlier this week when I went to price out a September trip.”
sparked confusion and frustration among other users, who quickly began speculating that Costco Travel had stopped selling Disneyland vacation packages.
“According to Mickey Visit, Costco will not be selling Disneyland packages moving forward,” one commenter wrote.
“Costco Travel will continue to sell packages for Walt Disney World, Aulani, and cruises, but Disneyland packages will no longer be offered. If any are offered, it will likely be limited geographically.”
Despite the lack of official confirmation from Costco, the company’s travel site no longer displays any options for Disneyland vacation packages.
The change has upset longtime fans of the perk.
“That’s unfortunate, one user wrote.
“We used Costco Travel last June for Disneyland, and the Disney gift card paid for a couple of meals for us – it was a great deal.”
Costco’s Disneyland bundles were known for offering added value, such as Disney gift cards, collectible lanyards, or exclusive pins.
“Costco packages were the same price as booking direct, they just had some (pretty great) perks,” one Redditor confirmed.
“The perks were worth it though; collectible pin or lanyard and Disney gift card worth anywhere from $100 – $250.”
Some users speculated that the move might be tied to an upcoming ticket-only deal that Costco is expected to offer starting May 19.
“When they announced that, it seemed like the nature of their relationship could be shifting,” one person commented.
“Maybe a contract was over.”
Others said the ticket-only deal might be a better value anyway.
“I found that when I priced packages through Costco, I would often get better deals directly through the hotel and purchasing tickets through GAT,” one shopper said.
“The Costco gift card was nice, but it didn’t make up the difference.”
Still, the shift comes as a blow to many loyal Costco Travel customers who used the package deals as a convenient, perks-laden option for planning Disney vacations.
“It’s a redundant space,” one person said.
“So I think I would actually prefer Costco to focus on just tickets.”
