Texas is in the SEC softball semifinals after a wild quarterfinal against Ole Miss. Despite blowing a 6-1 4th-inning lead, Mia Scott came through in walkoff fashion in the bottom of the 7th as the Longhorns won 7-6 in Athens.
The Longhorns, who received a double-bye into the quarterfinals as the No. 3 seed in the tournament, opened up a 4-0 lead in the 1st, knocking out Miali Guachino before she could record an out. After the Rebels got on the scoreboard in the top of the 4th, Texas added a pair in the bottom of the frame on a Kayden Henry two-run home run to make it 6-1.
The Rebels, though, stormed back with 5 in the 5th to tie the game at 6. In the 7th, Ole Miss pitcher Brianna Lopez retired the first 2 hitters she faced before allowing the next 2 to reach base.
And with 1st and 2nd with 2 outs, Scott laced a 3-2 count over the head of the center fielder, bring in Ashton Maloney for the winning run:
