Verseds New Serum Skin Tint Is So Lightweight - And Only $20

What happens when a skin-care brand loved for its affordable yet efficacious formulas launches a makeup line? A collection of products all under $20 that are easy to use and full of good-for-your-skin ingredients, including a skin tint I immediately fell in love with. The Versed Skin Solution Multi-Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 ($20) is everything I want in a little green bottle: mineral SPF 40 (I prefer mineral formulas for my face and the American Academy of Dermatology recommends no lower than SPF 30), buildable coverage, a skin-like finish, and a lightweight formula.

For me, signs of a truly good skin tint or foundation are if it doesn't cling to my skin's dry patches (shoutout to my fellow dry-skin friends), oxidize (aka turn orange), or disappear and/or separate throughout the day. I've had these issues way too many times to count. The Versed tint came through for me on all those fronts, so I've decided it's worthy of a spot in my regular rotation of complexion products. And it's well-earned: I am a discerning consumer when it comes to face bases, and I've tried more than I can remember over the years.

Read on for my full review of the Versed Skin Solution Multi-Serum Skin Tint SPF 40, and to learn why it deserves to be your next go-to as well.

About the Versed Skin Solution Multi-Serum Skin Tint SPF 40

It's a skin tint-serum hybrid that feels lightweight on skin. The formula provides buildable coverage. There's SPF 40 included in the form of mineral sunscreen (zinc oxide). You can choose from 14 different shades with varying undertones. Accepted by the National Rosacea Society, you can feel safe putting this on sensitive, redness-prone skin.

What I Like About the Versed Skin Solution Multi-Serum Skin Tint SPF 40

I was very pleasantly surprised at the level of coverage it gave me. I've tried many skin tints before that make my skin look dewy but provide almost no coverage (hey, nothing wrong with that - it's just not my cup of tea when I have an angry red blemish). But this skin tint blurs my pores, minimizes redness, delivers a hydrated glow, and hides some pretty gnarly pimples (both stress- and hormone-related). Don't get me wrong, it's not erasing everything like a full-coverage foundation would, which is to be expected, but it's definitely giving buildable, breathable coverage that doesn't feel heavy whatsoever. No caking, no creasing, just a lit-from-within no-makeup makeup look.

I also love that it contains mineral SPF. I know the chemical/mineral sunscreen debate can be polarizing, but I personally love a mineral SPF for my face. Chemical formulas are my go-to on my body, but for some reason, they can make my face itch. I wear SPF every day without fail, so using this product makes my morning routine even faster.

How to Use the Versed Skin Solution Multi-Serum Skin Tint SPF 40

The Versed Skin Solution Multi-Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 comes in a chic green glass bottle. I put two pumps onto the back of my hand, which was exactly the right amount to provide light to medium coverage. Versed also makes a Face Diffuser Multi-Tasking Brush ($15) for application. I applied the tint onto dry skin using the multitasking brush, and it blended seamlessly onto my skin.

What to Consider Before Trying the Versed Skin Solution Multi-Serum Skin Tint SPF 40

With 14 shades offered, make sure to choose the correct option for your skin tone and undertone. Also, as a skin tint, remember that it won't deliver full coverage. Pair it with a concealer or color corrector to amp up the coverage.

Where Is the Versed Skin Solution Multi-Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 Available?

You can buy the Versed Skin Solution Multi-Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 on the brand's website and at Target.
