Charlie Cale’s uncanny ability to detect lies is being put to the test once again in a second season of Poker Face on Sky.
The former casino worker, played by Natasha Lyonne, is hitting the road in her Plymouth Barracuda and every stop will see her encounter a fresh cast of characters and strange crimes she can’t help but solve.
Rian Johnson, the show’s creator, writer, director and executive producer, said: “Charlie Cale is back on the run, and in season two we’ve taken her journey to the next level one murder mystery at a time.
“From minor league baseball to big box retail, from funeral homes to alligator farms and even a grade school talent show, Charlie navigates her crime solving existential road-trip with deadpan wit, human empathy, and her signature uncanny lie-detecting ability.”
In the same vein as shows such as Columbo, The Rockford Files and Quantum Leap, each episode is a standalone with a new case and a host of Hollywood’s biggest names thrown into the mix.
This season will see among others Cynthia Erivo, Katie Holmes, John Mulaney and Justin Theroux make guest appearances.

The first three episodes will be released on 8 May, followed by a weekly release of the remaining nine installments.
Subscriptions to Sky start from £15 a month, while Now TV entertainment packages start from £6.99 a month.
Season one of the series is also available on Sky, Now TV, Apple TV+ and Amazon’s Prime Video.

Natasha Lyonne stars as Charlie Cale, a former casino worker on the run and harbouring an innate ability to spot lies.
Lyonne, 46, is also an executive producer, writer and director for the show.
The American actress started her career with a recurring role in Pee-wee’s Playhouse. She has gone on to star in Russian Doll, Big Mouth and Orange is the New Black.
On film, she has appeared in the American Pie movies, Sleeping With Other People and His Three Daughters.
Simon Helberg

The American actor, 44, is best known for playing Howard Wolowitz in the sitcom The Big Bang Theory.
He has also appeared in Joey, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Derek and Simon: The Show and American Dad!
His film appearances include Evan Almighty, A Serious Man, We’ll Never Have Paris, Florence Foster Jenkins and As They Made Us.

Rhea Perlman makes a number of appearances in the show as Beatrix Hasp, a powerful queen pin in the casino world.
Veteran American actress Perlman, 77, rose to fame as waitress Carla Tortelli in the sitcom Cheers, winning for Emmy Awards for her role.
She has also starred in Pearl, The Mindy Project and Kirstie.
Her film roles include Matilda and Barbie.
Justin Theroux

The actor and writer, 53, rose to prominence in the film Mulholland Drive and has appeared in movies such as Zoolander, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, Tropic Thunder, Wanderlust, The Girl on the Train, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Joker and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
On television, he has starred in Six Feet Under, The Leftovers, Maniac, The Mosquito Coast and White House Plumbers.
