Janelle Brown is giving fans a glimpse at how her late son Garrison Brown interacted with his siblings prior to his death in the upcoming episode of Sister Wives.
“He was always very much involved with the young kids,” Janelle, 55, recalls during Us Weekly’s exclusive sneak peek at the Sunday, May 11, episode of the TLC series. “He was very mindful of Truely.”
As Janelle reflects on her late son, viewers get a look at Garrison’s interactions with his siblings firsthand with throwback home videos. In one clip, Garrison teaches Christine Brown and dad Kody Brown’s youngest daughter, Truely Brown, how to garden.
“Garrison was always somebody who wanted to be working with his hands,” Janelle, 55, recalls of her son. “He did his best when he was working with his hands.”

Additional videos of Garrison, who died in March 2024, carrying Truely around when she was little show how caring he was as one of the older kids. That love extended to the youngest Brown children as well.
“Robyn [Brown] would comment that he would come over every day to see Sol and Ari,” Janelle explains in the preview, referring to Kody and his fourth wife’s two children, Solomon and Ariella. Janelle gushes, “He was always very much about his younger siblings.”
Janelle Brown Shares How Her Family Is Coping After Losing Son Garrison
Janelle became Kody’s second wife in 1993, joining him and first wife Meri Brown to start their plural family.
Janelle and Kody welcomed Garrison (full name Robert Garrison) in April 1998, as well as his five siblings: Logan, Maddie, Hunter, Gabriel and Savanah. Meri, for her part, shares one child with Kody, 55.
Courtesy of Janelle Brown/InstagramKody added to their plural family in 1994 by spiritually marrying Christine, with whom he shares six children. In 2014, he legally wed fourth wife Robyn, 46, after legally divorcing Meri, 54. Kody proceeded to adopt Robyn’s three kids from a prior marriage.
In November 2021, Christine, 53, announced her split from Kody. Janelle followed in December 2022 and Meri confirmed her separation from the patriarch in January 2023. One year later, tragedy struck the family when Us confirmed in March 2024 that Garrison died by suicide at age 25.

During the Sunday, May 4, episode of Sister Wives, Garrison’s family addressed his death for the first time on camera.
“Grief comes in waves. It just wasn’t supposed to be this way. You know what I’m saying?” Kody explained during the episode. “It’s just heartbreaking.”
Janelle, meanwhile, recalled Garrison turning to alcohol during the coronavirus pandemic after dealing with mental health struggles.
“He had anxiety and depression and then he started drinking as a way to sort of soothe that,” she remembered. “And then [it] just became the animal he couldn’t get a hold of. We did everything we could. And I know that.”
Janelle Brown Marks 1 Year Since Son Garrison's Death With Tribute
After the episode aired, Janelle thanked her fans for all of their support amid the past year. “It’s taken awhile to accept the fact that, in the end, we did everything we could,” Janelle wrote via Instagram on Sunday. “Sometimes the mind convinces someone there’s no hope, even when all the evidence says otherwise.”
She added: “I’m so thankful for all of my children, and especially for my grandbabies — they are truly life-giving. And because of my faith, I know I’ll be reunited with Garrison one day. That promise brings me immense comfort.”
