Trouble seems to be brewing in both the Big Apple and the Garden State, at least as far as Bravo is concerned. On Wednesday, May 7, Bravo sent out a massive press release announcing not only four new series including The Real Housewives of Rhode Island and a Shahs of Sunset spinoff, but also the renewals of host of popular Bravo staples. Conspicuously absent from the entire release were The Real Housewives of New York City and The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
In the announcement, the Real Housewives franchises set in Orange County, Beverly Hills, Salt Lake City and Potomac were all renewed while the Atlanta and Miami series were name dropped as currently airing and announced. With no word of RHONY and RHONJ, however, it would appear that Bravo is still mulling over what to do with the storied franchises.

Both RHONY and RHONJ are coming off of controversial seasons which have left the fandom asking for changes. RHONY Season 15, the second season post-reboot, left fans mostly bored and ended on a sour note after an altercation between Brynn Whitfield and Ubah Hassan moved past fun reality TV drama into something much darker. Meanwhile the feud between Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga got so bad in Season 14 that they refused to be in the same room together at the reunion. The fact that neither series has been renewed when more recent seasons of RHOBHand RHOP have seems telling.
So what will the fate of RHONY and RHONJ be? Bravo has yet to make any announcements, but it would seem that some sort of casting shakeup may be in order. Whether that be a full reboot, a partial overhaul or just removing a few squeaky wheels remains to be seen. On the plus side, however, no official "hiatus" has been announced as the network did for The Real Housewives of Dubai so it seems likely that RHONY and RHONJ will return at some point. We just probably wont see any tri-state housewives until 2026 at the earliest.
