(KRON) -- Despite not having their best player, the Golden State Warriors won Game 1 on the road against the Minnesota Timberwolves Tuesday night by a final score of 99-88. Stephen Curry left the game in the second quarter with a hamstring injury and didn't return.
Other Warriors picked up the slack, including Buddy Hield, who followed up his Game 7 masterpiece with a team-high 24 points, including 5-of-8 from distance.
Draymond Green -- not known for his scoring -- recorded 18 points, including 4-of-10 shooting from 3-point range, eight rebounds and six assists. Jimmy Butler added 20 points.

The Timberwolves last played on Wednesday, April 30 -- eliminating the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 5.
Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards was held in check by the Warriors' defense. Edwards scored 23 points but shot 9-of-22 from the field.
Game 2 is scheduled for Thursday, May 8 at Target Center in Minnesota. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. PT.
