A BELOVED convenience store chain with over 27,000 spots has apologised after removing a staple item from its menu.
The policy comes after foodies complained on social media and begged the chain to back the food.
Sometimes, pushback from fans is enough to change the mind of an entire chain.
This is exactly what happened to Casey’s after it admitted it had done a “bad thing” after taking away the item that was an “identity” for its customers.
Casey’s is referring to the BBQ Brisket Pizza, which was recently taken off of its menu.
Well after lots of outcry on social media, the item is now back for a limited time.
The chain issued an apology statement on Facebook: “First of all, we owe you a huge apology.
“We’re sorry for removing the BBQ Brisket Pizza from our menu.
“We know it wasn’t just food – it was an identity, a deeply personal connection between you, melted cheese and slow-smoked perfection.
“Thanks to your DMs, TikToks, and general unhinged BBQ devotion – we’re officially bringing it back.”
It is not known why the pizza is only coming back for a limited time, and if this could be extended given the demand for it.
FAN DEMAND
Comments online really pushed Casey’s to make the switch, with many passionate customers praising the pizza.
One person said: “The last time I got a pizza from there it had hardly any thing on top of it.
“I called in to complain and was told there’s nothing they can do.”
Another added: “One of the best pizzas I’ve ever eaten was the barbecued beef.”
Under the several fan comments, Casey’s even took to labelling the menu removal as a “bad thing.”
COSTCO CRITICS
While on occasions customer feedback can lead to positive change, others it can lead to heated debates and general disappointment,.
The US Sun recently reported on the news that the Hot Turkey & Provolone Sandwich has been increased to $6.99 at Costco.
While it is not exactly clear why the change was made, fans are not happy about it, and took to Reddit to show it.
The instigating Reddit post on the thread from Friday said: “Turkey provolone is 75 percent more expensive, used to be $3.99.
“For me the appeal was you got a decent cheap meal.
“But now around this price you can get better meals elsewhere.”
Costco classic food court items
Hot Dog with Soda – $1.50 Pepperoni or Cheese Pizza slice – $1.99 Rotisserie Chicken Caesar Salad – $6.99 Turkey and Swiss Sandwich – $6.99 Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie – $2.49In the comments, one person suggested the change could be down to rising produce costs.
They wrote: “Food courts are already understaffed.
“Can’t bring back fresh produce to put on the pizza and have to hire more people for a very low margin product.
“As for the churros, cookies are probably easier to ship frozen which also cuts down on prep time.”
Cheese is one of the items being hit by tariffs, among many, suggesting that Costco needed to increase the price to continue making it.
The US Sun reached out to Costco for clarification on the price rise, but has not heard back yet.
