PBKS & Shreyas Iyer fined for Code of Conduct breach in CSK tie

Punjab Kings may have secured a four-wicket win against CSK to knock them out of the tournament but they did not escape a fine. Shreyas Iyer and co. have been penalized for maintaining a slow-over rate in the game at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai. With that win, PBKS have moved to the second position on the points table with 13 points to their name.

PBKS penalized

PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer was fined Rs 12 lakhs for maintaining slow over rate in the game against CSK. This marked Iyer’s first offence in this season. The offence led to PBKS being restricted from having an extra fielder outside the circle in the 19th over. Iyer now joins the list of Hardik Pandya, Riyan Parag, Sanju Samson, Rajat Patidar, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant on the list of captains who have been fined so far in IPL 2025.

    Punjab Kings have all but knocked Chennai Super Kings out of IPL Playoff race with a 6-wicket win at Chepauk. The win helped PBKS jump to 2nd spot with 13 points from 10 matches. Shreyas Iyer (72) and Prabhsimran Singh (54) helped PBKS chase down 191 after Yuzvendra Chahal bagged a hat-trick to restrict CSK to 190.

    Sam Curran did all the hard work, taking CSK to 172/5. But in the next 18 runs, CSK lost five wickets. Earlier, PBKS won the toss and opted to field first. Glenn Maxwell was ruled out due to a finger fracture.
