The Chapel Hill Police Department is investigating reports of shots fired at the edge of the Northside neighborhood early Wednesday morning.
An alert from the town said officers responded to a call about gunfire in the 200 block of North Roberson Street around 6;45 a.m. Their initial investigation led to the belief someone fired the gunshots at two men before leaving the area. No one was injured, according to police.
Chapel Hill Police added that its investigators believe the suspect and victims know each other. The department is working to identify the suspect on Wednesday, and said any information shared by the public that leads to an arrest in the case could be eligible for a reward up to $2,000.
Anyone with information or further details on the incident is encouraged to call 911 or the Chapel Hill Police Department’s direct line (919-968-2760), according to the police department’s release. Those who wish to remain anonymous can also utilize the Chapel Hill-Carrboro-UNC CrimeStoppers hotline (919-942-7515) and website.
