More photos are coming out of Mark Wahlberg getting into character — to the extreme — for his upcoming crime thriller, By Any Means.
For fans initially shocked by seeing photos of Wahlberg's dramatic transformation on the film's Atlanta set earlier this month — he was in a full '60s-era costume with a shock of voluminous, longer brown hair — that was apparently just a practice run for his latest By Any Means look.
Per photos recently obtained by OK!, Wahlberg's entire face has completely transformed due to facial prosthetics the actor is wearing while in character as hitman Gregory Scarpa. (The movie, which is based on true events, centers around Scarpa, who, at President J. Edgar Hoover's orders, teams up with a Black FBI agent — portrayed in the film by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II — to uncover the murders of civil rights leaders in the mid-1960s.)
As for how the two-time Oscar nominee's face has changed for the film, he is wearing at least one prosthetic — a prosthetic nose, which completely transforms his face, making him virtually unrecognizable. He is also sporting the same full head of hair (most likely a wig) with lengthy sideburns as seen in the previous photos from April 16.
Mark. 53. isn't the only star in his family to undergo extreme transformations for films.
For 1999's The Sixth Sense, fans will remember that Donnie Wahlberg lost an extensive amount of weight to portray Bruce Willis' character's deeply troubled patient, Vincent Grey. Donnie's performance in the film was so harrowing and intense that it clearly wasn't just the weight loss that transformed him into an entirely different character — it was also his unexpected acting chops in such a disturbing and serious role.
