TOM Brady is reportedly furious with Skip Bayless’ NFL Draft claims about him.
Bayless made the claim that Brady told the Las Vegas Raiders not to draft Shedeur Sanders.
Sanders was expected to be a top pick in the NFL Draft, but ended up falling hard.
He wasn’t picked during the first round of the draft, and then even more surprisingly fell out of the second and third round too.
Once day three hit, there was speculation that Sanders might not be drafted at all.
However, the fifth round came and Sanders was finally drafted with the No. 144 overall pick by the Cleveland Browns.
Sanders’ slide has been the biggest story of the draft, and everybody is trying to figure out what it happened.
Bayless believes he figured out why Sanders fell in the draft.
Brady previously mentored Sanders in 2020 and said he was on track to become an incredible player, but it wasn’t enough for him to draft the quarterback.
Bayless believes this was a direct order from Brady to the Raiders front office.
“It is now pretty clear Tom Brady – who mentored Shedeur – told the Raiders NOT to take him. Duly noted,” he wrote on X.
According to Daily Mail, Brady thinks Bayless embarrassed himself by making the claims during the draft.
Shedeur fell hard in the draft, but Brady doesn’t think it has anything to do with him.
Brady has continuously praised Sanders as a prospect, most recently in 2023.
“I see someone who has a great work ethic but wants the knowledge too,” he said.
“People always ask me, ‘How good do you think this guy is going to be?’ And I always say, it depends on who he surrounds himself with.
“It depends who mentors him. Because even you, [Deion Sanders], weren’t a finished product at 21 or 22. I certainly wasn’t. I had the right people come into my life and I was open to learning from them.

“Naturally, he’s very proactive. We had a conversation, then phone calls, then then text messages, and then him making the commitment to say ‘all right, this is what I want to do, I’m very serious about it.’
“A lot of it is you want to see what their intention is too because when you see someone that’s really open to learning and has a thirst for knowledge, you want to be able to support that.”
While Brady has shared support for Sanders, the Raiders simply didn’t need a quarterback.
They traded with the Seattle Seahawks for Geno Smith this offseason, and opted to take running back Ashton Jeanty with their first round pick.
The Raiders focused on boosting their offensive line and adding weapons for Smith, eventually drafting backup quarterbacks in the sixth round after Sanders was taken by the Browns.
