In a refreshing move to lift spirits and recharge the team, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) took their team on a well-deserved getaway to the Maldives, breaking their losing streak in the ongoing IPL 2025 season. SRH had crushed Chennai Super Kings by five wickets in their previous game on April 25.
As Sunrisers Hyderabad’s next IPL 2025 clash is scheduled on May 2 against the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the franchise organized a luxurious vacation in the tropical paradise for the players as a reward for their hard work and determination in the tournament.
A thrilling video shared by the team on its social media handles shows SRH players landing in the picturesque Maldives, where they were seen enjoying water rides on their way to luxurious water villas. The video captures the players in high spirits, smiling all the way in excitement.

The entire SRH team, along with their families, received a warm and cheerful welcome upon arrival. They were welcomed by the resort staff in the orange-colored outfit that represents Sunrisers Hyderabad, while Ishan Kishan was seen capturing the beauty of the island that is famous for turquoise waters and white sand seashores on his mobile phone.
Sharing the clip on their social media platform X on Saturday (April 26), SRH wrote in the caption: “Sun, sea, and a team retreat for our Risers in the Maldives! ?️✈️”

Sunrisers Hyderabad felt it was the perfect getaway for the squad to relax and rejuvenate both physically and mentally before the team heads into the next phase of the ongoing IPL 2025.
However, the Hyderabad team’s decision to go on vacation in the middle of the tournament has raised many eyebrows, especially given the way their campaign has gone so far.
Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad has so far managed to win only three games from their nine outings in the ongoing IPL 2025. If they want to make it to the playoffs, they have to win all their remaining games in the tournament. Every upcoming game is now a do-or-die for Hyderabad, as a single loss could end their IPL 2025 playoff hopes.

Earlier, SRH coach Daniel Vettori hailed Kamindu Mendis for his brilliant bowling against the CSK. Vettori said after the match, “I think I probably didn’t quite appreciate how good his bowling was with both arms. His ability to go back and forward and control his pace is a real skill. So, at least to give us one option to take it away (from the batters), it just balanced our team perfectly.”
