Shreyas Iyer ko nahi baksha: Mohammed Kaifs bold statement on Virat Kohli’s revenge celebration in Delhi

Former Indian batter Mohammed Kaif has dismissed the notion that Virat Kohli will pull off a sensational revenge against the Delhi Capitals when Royal Challengers Bengaluru takes on the hosts in the IPL 2025 match at his home ground, Arun Jaitley Stadium, on Sunday, April 27.

Delhi Capitals batter KL Rahul had set the internet on fire earlier this month when he smashed an unbeaten 93 off 53 balls against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their previous game and celebrated by signaling to the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, his "home ground."

Rahul’s bold celebration grabbed a lot of attention on social media. Now, with RCB set to face DC in Delhi on Sunday, many fans and cricket experts are excited and wondering if Virat Kohli will strike back with a fiery celebration of his own to settle the score.

However, Mohammed Kaif said that Kohli won’t celebrate like KL Rahul in Delhi. The commentator mentioned that the RCB star already showed intense emotions against the Punjab Kings, so he’s now being more careful.

Kaif added that Kohli is smart and won’t repeat such actions every time, so he is not expecting any wild celebrations from the former Indian captain in Delhi.

He's not going to celebrate like KL Rahul: Mohammad Kaif

Mohammed Kaif said on Star Sports, “He's (Virat Kohli) not going to celebrate like KL Rahul. He did an intense celebration against Punjab, but now he is a little careful. He is a smart guy. He won't do it every time. 100% he will not do such antics in Delhi. He didn't spare Iyer despite their playing a lot of cricket together. But maybe this thing won’t happen in Delhi.”

Meanwhile, Kohli has been in great form with the bat in the ongoing IPL 2025. In 9 matches so far, the dashing right-hander has scored 392 runs at an impressive average of 65.33 and a strike rate of 144.11. He has already smashed five half-centuries, with his highest score being 73*.

Mohammad Kaif hails Virat Kohli's silent dominance in the IPL 2025

Kaif praised Kohli’s brilliant form in the tournament and highlighted his fitness and smart batting at the age of 36. He said the RCB icon plays on merit, takes fewer risks, and quietly climbed to second place in the Orange Cap race without much noise.

Kaif signed off by saying, “When I see him batting, I feel like saluting him because he is 36 years old. If you bring a 20-year-old guy, he will run faster in 20 overs. I am talking about fitness. If you talk about batting, he plays on merit. He was far behind in the Orange Cap race.

But when he got the form, he came in at number 2. Quietly. We were talking about Pooran, Sai. But Virat came in at number 2. So, a player who plays on merit, who takes fewer risks, has more chances to make more runs and perform better.”
