The Philadelphia Eagles traded up to take former Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell with the No. 31 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft on Thursday night.
The Eagles were thrilled to get Campbell and seemingly made multiple other attempts to trade up in the draft to acquire the former Crimson Tide standout. On Friday, the Eagles released clips from the phone call they had with Campbell shortly after turning in their pick.
“We got you, you are a Philadelphia Eagle,” general manager Howie Roseman says on the call. “Officially. We’re on the clock right now, we just made a trade … Congratulations. We are so excited man.”
Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie also joined the call and said the franchise had been trying to trade for Campbell “for the last hour.”
Finally, head coach Nick Sirianni jumped on the phone and offered his congratulations as well.

Campbell was the second Alabama first-round draft pick of the night, joining offensive lineman Tyler Booker. He’s the first former Alabama linebacker to go in Round 1 since Rashaan Evans in 2015.
