There are all kinds of ways to combat the heat of summer, from taking a dip in a refreshing pool to enjoying a hearty ice cream sundae in order to ward away from the blistering humidity of the season.
Luckily, Burger King has recently announced a brand-new option to cool diners off amidst the dog days of summer: a Frozen Strawberry Lemonade featuring a unique Nerds candy topping.
Arriving in every Burger King restaurant nationwide this past Thursday, the Frozen Strawberry Lemonade will be available for a limited-time only. In it, Burger King's staff mix together a base of either strawberry or blue raspberry slush, before sprinkling on a healthy supply of Nerds' crunchy candy pieces.
The new menu item is yet another in Burger King's long line of recent noteworthy beverages. In 2023, for example, the fast food chain launched the Frozen Fanta Kickin' Mango beverage, earning widespread attention from diners across the country. In 2024, the restaurant followed it up with Cotton Candy Cloud and the Pink Lemonade, solidifying a new trend in BK's menu options.
While the new drink has once again caught people's interest, the immediate reaction to the Frozen Strawberry Lemonade's has been slightly mixed. Some have specifically said the drink is a bit too sweet for their liking, with others negatively comparing it to similar drinks offered at Sonic.
For the most part, though, reactions across social media have been overwhelmingly positive, with most patrons expressing their excitement for the new BK menu item.
To further ramp up on fans' excitement, Burger King has also announced they'll be offering a brand-new promotional deal to celebrate National Strawberry Month this coming May. As part of the promotion, diners can take home a free Frozen Strawberry Flavored beverage (sans Nerds) every Saturday with any purchase of $1 or more at participating restaurants.
