Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft is here.
The first round of the draft was extremely eventful, starting with the Jacksonville Jaguars trading up to No. 2 overall for two-way superstar Travis Hunter. A total of 15 SEC players were picked in Round 1, tying the league’s own record for the most by one conference in a single draft.
Ahead of Day 2, NFL Draft analyst and former scout Daniel Jeremiah ranked his 5 best available players. A couple of SEC players made the cut — South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori and LSU tight end Mason Taylor. Michigan’s Will Johnson, Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Marshall’s Mike Green also merited mention from Jeremiah:

— Daniel Jeremiah (@MoveTheSticks) April 25, 2025Emmanwori slipping to Round 2 was one of the biggest surprises of the night. However, the former South Carolina star took the news in stride with a classy gesture after Day 1 ended on Thursday night. He’s likely to be one of the first picks off the board on Friday evening.
Taylor was also a potential first-round pick who ended up sliding to Round 2. The only tight ends to be picked on Thursday night were former Michigan star Colston Loveland and ex-Penn State standout Tyler Warren.
Aside from the names Jeremiah mentioned, former Mizzou receiver Luther Burden and former Ole Miss cornerback Trey Amos are 2 more players who should hear their names called relatively early in Round 2.
The second round of the draft will begin on Friday at 7 p.m. ET.
