Tonight's two-part Fire Country Season 3 finale is jam-packed with action. As the firefighters of Station 42 battle a dangerous blaze at a gas station, Bode (Max Thieriot) tries to save his grandpa Walter (Jeff Fahey) and his care facility from a wildfire, and Gabriela (Stephanie Arcila) goes face-to-face with her stalker, Finn (Blake Lee).
Before all that, though, Bode and Gabriela manage to find some time to check in with each other. And, in an exclusive sneak peek of the Season 3 capper, Bode and Gabs affirm the state of their friendship.

The two are washing dishes in the firehouse, and Bode asks Gabiela if she's good after everything with Finn. She says she is, because at this point in the finale, Finn is still missing after fleeing the scene of getting caught stalking Gabriela in the previous episode, and seems to have left town.
"I'm serious," Bode says. "If Finn comes after you or anybody, I got you."
"Bode, you're on parole," she reminds him. "You can't put yourself in danger for me, especially when we're not together anymore."
"It's not about being together," he says. "We're family. Family's forever."
"I'm not calling you brother," she says with a smile — and she's not gonna call him "bro," either.

The scene drives home the fact that Bode and Gabriela are not together, and neither of them is trying to be. After spending all of Seasons 1 and 2 in a "will-they/won't-they," Bode and Gabs are fully in "won't-they" mode right now, with Bode happy with his new girlfriend Audrey (Leven Rambin) and Gabriela working on herself.
The heat could always get turned back on, though. Arcila anticipates that Bode and Audrey could get back together someday, but for now, being friends is a healthy place for them to be.
“Because all of the fun and then exciting stuff fades eventually, and then what do you have left if you haven't created a good, firm foundation for it?” Arcila told Parade in an earlier interview. “So what the future holds for them, I don't know. I think that it is very healthy, though, for them to be seeing other people, especially if they haven't dated much in life. They get to know themselves through that, grow, mature, feel and then see where they're at in the future.”
We'll probably have to wait for Season 4 for that, though.
Fire Country's Season 3 finale will consist of two back-to-back episodes on CBS on Friday, April 25 at 9/8c. Episodes are available to stream next day on Paramount+.
