COSTCO appears to have left some shoppers furious and bewildered after appearing to quietly change an item that parents tend to buy.
Shoppers have been left in despair over the switch, saying the product used to be comparable with major brands.
Costco has come under considerable fire from shoppers after making a change to its Kirkland diapers product, as reported by Bloomberg.
Customers have claimed that the quality of the undergarment is not as good as it once was.
In a viral TikTok video, which has racked up almost 100,000 likes, parent Mel claimed the material felt cheap.
“This is really upsetting,” she said.
She said the diaper felt thin and vowed to return the items.
“These are like paper thin,” she said.
“Costco, what is going on.”
She compared the new Kirkland diaper with an older one, and showed off the difference.
Mel revealed Kirkland diapers used to be stretchy, but the new version didn’t appear to have any give.
“This is really upsetting,” she said.
Meanwhile, other parents have opened up on their issues with the pack of diapers, as reported by Fortune.
Sylve Rosen-Bernstein, from New York, said her son, 11 months, started to wake up early because he was feeling uncomfortable.
She revealed that there was leakage through the material.
Furious parents turned to sites such as Reddit, revealing the diapers are prone to ripping.
“The new Kirkland diapers just aren’t absorbent enough,” one said.
“We’ve had a few blowouts and overnight leaks.
“Our son’s diaper is FULL in the morning, and the new design just didn’t cut it, so he was waking up with wet PJs and sleep sack every morning after we started the new design.”
The shopper revealed they had turned to companies such as Huggies.
SCATHING CRITICISM
Almost 1,000 shoppers have posted scathing one-star reviews on the Costco website.
A pack of 222 diapers in the size three to six costs $44.99 on the Costco website.
The U.S. Sun has approached Costco for comment.
Major retailers are constantly keeping their inventories updated with new items.
