Former Pakistan National Cricket Team player Tanvir Ahmed made a bold claim on the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) amid the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He said that most of the franchises in the leagues are associated with fixers.
Tanvir Ahmed's comments came after the Indian Premier League came in the news for the fixing after the Rajasthan Royals were accused of the same following the narrow defeat against Lucknow Super Giants in the ongoing 2025 season. The match took place at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) ad-hoc committee convenor Jaideep Bihani made allegations. This came after the Sanju Samson-led side failed to chase nine runs in the last over against Lucknow Super Giants. They went on to lose the game by 2 runs, and this was the second time in the league that something similar happened.
Rajasthan Royals, a few days earlier, also failed to chase a similar kind of target against Delhi Capitals. The game moved into the Super over, and they went on to lose the game. The franchise has also been receiving a lot of criticism for the same.
Following this, the Rajasthan Royals also issued an official statement. They wrote to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), saying that allegations were made only to give rise to controversy.
The biggest fixing also happens and most of the teams are with the fixers - Tanvir Ahmed
Amid all this, Tanvir Ahmed came up with a bold message. He said that BCCI calls IPL the biggest league in the world, but also the biggest fixing happens in the league as well. Taking to his Twitter, Tanvir Ahmed said:
"BCCi bolta ha humari IPL duniya ke sab say bari league ha han woh tou ha lekin fixing bhi sab say bari hote ha ziyada tar to team's fixer's kay pass hain (BCCI tells that our IPL is the biggest league in the world. Yes that it is but the biggest fixing also happens and most of the teams are with the fixers)."

Rajasthan Royals were banned from the IPL in 2015 due to the involvement of their key officials in betting activities
Notably, the Rajasthan Royals were banned from the IPL in 2015 and did not feature in the 2016 and 2017 editions of the tournament due to the fixing allegations. They, along with Chennai Super Kings, faced the suspension following the involvement of their key officials in betting activities.
Coming to the IPL 2025, the Rajasthan Royals are having a tough time in the league. They are 8th on the points table and have managed just 2 wins. They now need to win all their games to be in contention for the playoffs.
