A day after Rajasthan Royals wrote to the state government over match-fixing allegations levelled on the team, a BCCI official has ended silence on the matter. Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) ad hoc committee convener Jaideep Bihani had accused the team of wrongdoing in their clash against LSG. RR failed to score 9 runs needed in the final over to win the game.

As per Times of India, a BCCI official claimed that the RCA was dissolved and that there was a lot of drama happening as elections were around the corner. Further, the official stated that an anti-corruption unit was in place and is working round the clock to keep bad elements away from the game.
“The RCA is currently dissolved. An ad-hoc committee has been formed, and with the elections approaching, there is a lot of drama. Everyone wants attention,” the official said.
RR’s response to allegation
Knowing what’s happened in the past, RR management has decided to nip the matter in the bud. They have categorically denied any wrongdoing and written to the Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the Rajasthan Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, and the Sports Secretary regarding the matter.
“We reject all allegations made by the convener of the ad hoc committee. Such public statements are not only misleading but have caused serious damage to the reputation and credibility of Rajasthan Royals, Royal Multi Sport Private Limited (RMPL), the Rajasthan Sports Council, and the BCCI. They also tarnish the integrity of cricket,” RR said in an official statement.
“Further, as per the contractual requirements and as per BCCI directions, we are to work with the state association and the state government. RMPL has effectively and successfully done this for the last 18 years. BCCI has confirmed and approved that RSSC has the hosting rights for IPL matches in Jaipur. The franchisee is working hand-in-hand with BCCI and RSSC under the guidance and support of the State Government to ensure a successful IPL season,” the statement further read.
