Their latest must-have treat is one inspired by a traditional Japanese street food, and fans can’t seem to get enough. u/theb00kwasbetter shared TJ’s newest product, Japanese Mini Taiyaki, on the r/TraderJoes Reddit thread, and judging by everyone's reactions we can’t wait to give them a try for ourselves. These delectable miniature fish-shaped morsels are made of crispy waffle batter filled with a luscious custardy inside. Traditionally, taiyaki is made with adzuki bean filling, but we wouldn’t be surprised if that was on the way next.
Each bag contains eight mini waffles, and all you have to do is heat them in a 400°F oven for 12 to 15 minutes before digging in to enjoy. You can also pop them into the air fryer or microwave if you’re wanting to chow down faster. Fans went crazy in the comments, with most saying, “Yummmy.” Elsewhere, shoppers were begging for additional flavorings from hazelnut and matcha, to the traditional red bean.
Now that’s what we call culinary exploration.
