A juvenile is in custody after police say he shot and killed a 14-year-old Monday evening in Greeley.
About 7 p.m. Monday, Greeley police responded to a shooting at the Sunlight Townhomes, 506 16th St., according to a department news release.
When officers arrived, they saw a 14-year-old who had been shot and was unresponsive, according to the release. Police say the victim was later pronounced dead.
The initial investigation pointed toward another juvenile as the suspect, police say. That juvenile was arrested and booked on related charges, according to the release.
The names of the victim, the suspect and witnesses are being withheld due to their age.
Police believe this was an isolated incident and that there is no further threat to the community.
The department asks anyone with information on the shooting to contact Detective Jonathan Bohl at 970-652-8235.
Police say no more information will be released on Tuesday.
