Britain’s Got Talent’s Stacey Leadbeatter reveals wedding plans as Golden Buzzer acts share how they’d spend £250k prize

BRITAIN’S Got Talent star Stacey Leadbeatter has revealed her wedding plans after reaching the semi final stage of the ITV show.

The vocalist – who promises “a song close to my heart” in her next audition – wowed both the live audience and the ITV show panel with her rendition of Run, originally by Snow Patrol, in March.

After her Britain’s Got Talent audition success, which saw judge KSI press the Golden Buzzer for her, Stacey, 29, has spoken out about her recent engagement and wedding plans.

She said she would spend a portion of the £250K prize on the ceremony and put: “If I were to win, I promised that I would take my daughter to Disneyland as she really wants to go!

“But then I’d also like to put some money towards growingour family! And also for our upcoming wedding.”

Talking of her nuptials with childhood partner Richard, the Leeds-based mum denied she would be singing at her own ceremony.

She added: “I have recently gotten engaged.

“I don’t think I’d be my own wedding singer, but I’d definitely be up for singing mine and my partner’s song to him on the big day.”

Stacey previously opened up on her happy chapter during an interview on ITV show Lorraine.

Talking about where she watched Saturday’s initial episode, she said: “I was at home with my fiance.”

As a picture of the lovebirds flashed on-screen, Lorraine interjected: “Of course, because you’ve just got engaged.

“Double congratulations, that’s fantastic. It’s all happening isn’t it?”

Referring to her proposal by her childhood friend Richard, Stacey replied: “Everything happened at once, it was so surreal.

“It’s like an outer body experience.”

She is one of BGT’s nine Golden Buzzer acts progressing to next week’s semi final.

As well as Stacey, these also include Vinnie McKee, Olly Pearson, The Blackouts, Electric Umbrella, Linda Mudzenda, Maya Giotea, Max Fox and Will Burns.

Britain's Got Talent's biggest 'fix' rows

Britain's Got Talent has been plagued with 'fix' rows over the years. How many of these do you remember?

Jasmine Elcock – 2016: Teenage singer Jasmine Elcock stunned the nation with her version of Cher’s Believe. But it then transpired she had already performed professionally in London’s West End. Jasmine, 14, admitted: “I’ve performed in Annie in the West End at about the age of nine or 10, but I really get nervous.”

IrShad Shaikh – 2017: BGT fans were left questioning the rule book when IrShad Shaikh auditioned. He got four red buzzers from the judges, which would usually mean an instant dismissal. Yet in a strange turn of events, they let him continue with his act…and put him through to the next round.

Colin Thackery – 2019: Elderly war veteran Colin won BGT in 2019, but there was an outcry over the final. He warbled his place to win with a version of We’ll Meet Again but fans were furious that escapologist Jonathan Goodwin didn’t even rank in the top three. Viewers felt Jonathan – who almost suffocated while being buried alive in a gravel pit – should have won.

Axel Blake – 2022: Comedian Axel Blake was given a Golden Buzzer in 2022 after making the judges laugh. But fans were fuming when they discovered Axel already had a show on worldwide streaming platform Amazon Prime. Despite this, Axel still went on to win the series.

Loren Allred – 2022: The 2022 series of BGT was hit with another controversy when singer Loren Allred also received a Golden Buzzer. She performed Never Enough from the smash hit musical movie The Greatest Showman and got a standing ovation. It later transpired Loren was actually the original voice behind the track.

Taryn Charles – 2024: Singer Taryn Charles is one of this year’s hopefuls lucky enough to receive the Golden Buzzer. Bruno Tonilio put her straight through to the semi-finals following her performance of (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin, but it has now come to light that she is no stranger to TV. Viewers recognised Taryn from an episode of ITV1’s Starstruck, where she impersonated Whitney Houston for judges Olly Murs, Sheridan Smith, Adam Lambert and Beverley Knight.

Guitarist Olly Pearson, 11, also spilled the beans on what he would spend his winnings on.

He said: “The very first thing I would do would be to treat my Grandad to his dream guitar.

“It would be my way to say thank you for teaching me to play.”

The young rocker added: “Next it would be good to get a really cool (and loud) amp for when I play live gigs too!

“I have also been thinking I would like to give some to an animal charity.”

Singer Vinnie McKee, 29, who was the first Golden Buzzer act of the series, confessed: “I would use the money to get my mum and dad a little house or apartment for them to enjoy their retirement.

“When my brother died it left an empty space in our family home in the east end of Glasgow.”

Simon Cowell jumped out of his seat to give Vinnie a pass to the semi finals.

Britain’s Got Talent’s semi-finals start on Saturday 26th April, LIVE at 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
