Nate Ament is taking his talents to Rocky Top.
Tennessee is the winner for the prized prospect. Ament announced his commitment to play for the Volunteers, choosing Tennessee over Duke, Kentucky, Louisville, Arkansas and others.
This was a very hard decision,” Ament told ESPN. “It took me a little longer than most. I wanted to make sure it was the right fit. I could have gone to any of the five finalists. Or even to schools outside the finalists. Ultimately, I felt like this was the best place for me and my family, and the coaching staff was the best fit for me. I was looking at the transfer portal and rosters for next season, asking myself how I would fit with teammates? How much can I trust the coaches I am talking to? What goals do they have, and do they align with mine?
Out of Warrenton (Virginia) Highland School, Ament is listed as measuring 6-9 and 185 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, he is rated the No. 1 player in Virginia, No. 2 power forward and No. 4 prospect overall in the Class of 2025.
Ament figures to be an early pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. He’s ready for an exciting 2025-26 season in Knoxville, as Tennessee tries to break through beyond the Elite 8.
NBA scouts are enamored with the upside and talent Nate Ament possesses at 6'10, with guard skills and the ability to defend all over the floor.
