Mariska Hargitay lost her mother Jayne Mansfield when she was just 3 years old, but that hasn’t stopped her from celebrating the Hollywood icon.
On April 19, which would have been Mansfield’s 92nd birthday, the Law & Order: SVU star took to Instagram to celebrate her late mother with a photo and captioned jointly posted on her personal account along with mymomjayne.

“Happy Birthday to my Mom Jayne. You’re with me on this day, and I’m with you. I celebrate you and your exquisite, complex heart, today and always. With so much love, Mariska,” she wrote, along with a photo of the legendary blonde bombshell smiling at the camera while holding what appears to be a glass of champagne.
Fans and fellow celebrities were there to support Hargitay, with Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn posting a single “❤️,” while a fan offered, “She would be so proud of the woman you are, Mariska. Happy Heavenly birthday ?”

Hargitay also announced in an April 16 post that her documentary on Mansfield, My Mom Jayne, will screen at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival. “I’ve dedicated my almost thirty years here to telling important stories, and I’m profoundly moved to have the opportunity to tell this deeply personal one—my mother’s, mine, and ours together,” she wrote.
“My mom and I never had the opportunity to create something together, and she didn’t always get to tell the stories she truly cared about. @mymomjayne gives us a place to meet again,” she added.
