American Pickers star Danielle Colby finally addressed a mystery illness after abruptly canceling burlesque shows in December 2024.
On April 19, the History Channel personality, 49, took to Instagram to announce her return to the stage after taking several months off.

"It’s been so long… I haven’t taken the stage in quite a while," Colby began her lengthy message, explaining she's been busy kicking off her new business venture honoring burlesque history.
"Finally I get to put myself back in the swing of performing. I’ve missed the stage, I’ve missed entertaining and being with my friends," she continued. "There are huge sacrifices that have come with this project and I’m thankful for each one of them."
In the featured photo, Colby—who performs under the stage name Dannie Diesel—rocked a cheetah-print costume with cheetah ears and cheetah-print shoes, fishnet tights and a red feather boa. She completed the look with makeup that gave her whiskers and a cat nose and eyes.
That's when Colby brought up a recent health scare that sidelined her from burlesque shows.
"The last time I wore this costume I was in very bad health," she revealed. "This night in this photo was extremely painful and frightening, but I survived it and I cannot wait to wear this costume again with much more confidence and peace."

Although Colby didn't specify the details of the health issue or what caused her pain, her post was among the first times she publicly mentioned a personal medical scare.
In the comments, fans showered her with encouragement and appreciation.
One Instagram follower wrote, "You’re as strong as you are beautiful, super excited for you!! ❤️."
Another declared, "Beautiful and enjoy your dream and the dance," as another commented, "Live your best life Danielle!"
On Dec. 9, the American Pickers star announced the cancellation of her appearance at an adult variety show—as well as all burlesque performances "for the foreseeable future."
"Had some very serious health issues happening within my family; I really don't want to get too much in detail," she explained to fans in a video shared via Instagram. "It's not my health I'm speaking of."
Colby clarified, "I'm OK, I'm fine, but my family needs me right now."
