The Sopranos star Dominic Chianese and his family are in mourning. Chianese's daughter, Sarah Francesca Chianese, passed away after a battle with cancer on April 15. She was 58.
The Chianese family announced Sarah's death in an Instagram post on the Sopranos fan account Sopranos Aficionado, calling her a "bright light" who "wanted everyone to live their happiest life."
"The Chianese family has asked me to post a tribute for Sarah Chianese. ?️ Sarah Francesca Chianese, daughter of Dominic Chianese, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 15th. She battled glioblastoma and was only 58 years old. Her father stayed by her side til the very end. 'Sarah was a bright light in this world, she wanted everyone to live their happiest life and smile when they think of her.' - Rebecca Chianese. Rip Sarah, you will be greatly missed," reads the Instagram post.

features several photos of Dominic and Sarah together. Dominic Chianese, 94, is an actor best known for playing Uncle Junior Soprano on the HBO drama for all six seasons of its run. He earned two Emmy nominations for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama in 2000 and 2001.
Sarah's brother Dominic Chianese Jr.told People that his sister will be remembered for her kindness. He also shared that their father Dominic was at her side as the transitioned from this life to the next.
"I would just like to say that my father was there in her final days to support her in her transition. It was important to her and him both," said Dominic Jr.
On Sarah's Instagram account, her son linked to a eulogy he wrote in which he praises his mother's "grace" in facing her most likely fatal diagnosis.
"In stillness and confidence, she made her peace with the world and with God. She never lamented. Never woe is me. Never complained," writes her son, adding, "She valued life, and she wanted those who loved her to love themselves — to celebrate themselves every single day."
