The Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings (PBKS) went head-to-head with the Rajat Patidar-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 34th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Friday, April 18.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) won the IPL 2025 match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 5 wickets with 11 balls remaining at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

PBKS won the toss and chose to bowl first in the match. They did a fantastic job in the innings and reduced RCB to 63/9 before Tim David played an explosive innings and helped RCB end up with a total of 95/9.
For PBKS, Harpreet Brar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Marco Jansen, and Arshdeep Singh got two wickets each, while Xavier Bartlett bagged one wicket.
Chasing the target, Punjab Kings faced a few hiccups and lost five wickets, but Nehal Wadhera played a great cameo of 33 runs to steer his team past the finish line in 12.1 overs.
Speaking after the match, the Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer said that variety is the spice of life, hence, they keep producing high-scoring as well as low-scoring thrillers. Shreyas Iyer said:
"Variety is the spice of life. We are able to experience all kinds of game. There was no thinking. We were making instinctive moves, Marco was able to etract the bounce."

Shreyas Iyer further showered rich praise on Nehal Wadhera, saying that he showcased a brilliant approach. He said:
"The rest of the bowlers helped him. To be honest, I didn't know it would play. The bowlers did adapt really well. I didn't see a single six hit down the ground off a pacer. Nehal was brilliant in his approach today."
Shreyas Iyer, at last, made a tall claim, stating that the leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is the best bowler in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He asserted:
"Personally I had a chat with Chahal. He has got the capability of bouncing back. Probably he is the best bowler in the IPL so far. Depends on the wicket (on producing thriller ij next match against RCB)."
