Albertsons incoming CEO Susan Morris has revealed the company is expanding its customer loyalty program, allowing shoppers to get more value for money at checkout.
Morris, who will officially take over as CEO on May 1, told an earnings call the company would make even more changes to its loyalty program this year.
This will include giving shoppers more special deals, further opportunities to earn points and get more “automatic cash” off their grocery bills.
“We will continue to simplify and expand the loyalty program… allows customers to get personalized deals, to earn points and to have an extended period of time to redeem them for fuel and grocery rewards or automatic cash off their grocery bill,” Morris told investors.
The company recently bought in a new automatic cash off option allowing members to opt-in and automatically convert points into cash off savings at checkout for a better customer savings experience.
Members now earn one point for every $1 spent on qualifying purchases and can redeem points for discounts on groceries, gas, or opt for automatic cash-off savings at checkout.
“We’ve enhanced the rest of our loyalty offerings to provide immediate savings and greater value,” she said.
The comments come after the company relaunched its “Albertsons for U” program last year.
The company estimates that shoppers who sign up for the Albertsons for U program can save up to 20% weekly.
Points can be tracked through Albertsons Deals & Delivery mobile app or website.
