(KRON) -- An East Bay high school football player was seriously injured after he dove into the ocean at Stinson Beach last weekend. Unfortunately, Amin Noroozi died on Thursday, KRON4 has confirmed.
He was 17.
Noroozi was a varsity football player at Acalanes High School in Lafayette. According to a family friend, he died at 3:30 p.m., although the specific cause of death remains unknown.
The teenager developed a fever that resulted in his body shutting down at the hospital.

KRON4 reached out to Acalanes High School's principal and football coach for comment. We are waiting for a response. There is no update at this time about community vigils for Noroozi.
