Cornelius Police release new age progression photo on Madalina Cojocari’s 14th birthday ...Middle East

CORNELIUS, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — As Cornelius marks Madalina Cojocari’s 14th birthday on Friday, it's a somber reminder that she is still missing.

Friday, April 11, 2025, would have been Madalina’s 14th birthday. To honor the day and reignite awareness, Cornelius Police have released a new age progression image of the missing girl.

Created by forensic artists with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the image shows what Madalina might look like today, three years after she was last seen.

Madalina vanished in November 2022, just 11 years old at the time. Her last confirmed sighting was getting off her school bus on November 21.

“The Cornelius Police Department, along with our partners with the NCSBI and FBI, continue to investigate this case,” David Baucom, Chief of the Cornelius Police Department, said in a released statement. "We are committed to finding Madalina and will not stop until this case is solved."

The updated image is part of an ongoing effort to keep her story alive and, police hope, to generate new leads. She is described as having dark hair, dark eyes, and an olive complexion. 

A reward of up to $25,000 is still being offered by the Governor’s Office for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in connection with her disappearance.

Authorities continue to urge anyone who might know something, no matter how small the detail may seem, to come forward.

Chief Baucom said, "Madalina is a member of our community and is not forgotten."
