The companies, which are subsidiaries of South Korea’s HD Hyundai, said they would become future flagships in their ranges.
HD Hyundai Construction Equipment has set up a 3,500-sq-m “Intelligent Park” booth where visitors can test more than 20 pieces of advanced equipment.
Some are compact, powered by electricity or fuel cells, and designed specifically for European users.
Devulon, previously known as HD Hyundai Infracore, has a 3,800-sq-m booth. Among its attractions is Real-X, the commercial version of its unmanned Concept-X2 unit, which was introduced to Europe at last year’s Intermat trade fair.
It will also be showcasing the fruits of its partnership with Swiss heavy machinery automation company Gravis Robotics. The two signed a joint development agreement with the aim of allowing unmanned excavators to work in tandem with articulated dump trucks.
Devulon will also demonstrate its hydrogen-powered excavator, which was listed as one of the final nominees at the International Bauma Innovation Award in the climate protection category.
HD Hyundai said in a press statement that it was hoping to use bauma to “challenge the dominance of established top-tier brands”.
It said: “We have invested three years of meticulous preparation for the launch of our new next-generation models and our participation in bauma.
“We are eager to demonstrate HD Hyundai’s technological prowess and showcase the true value of our next-generation models to a global audience of customers and industry experts.”
Bauma is one of the three largest construction machinery trade fairs, alongside Conexpo, which is held in the US, and Intermat, which takes place in France.
